Laurel is a community with deep roots in western Sussex County, situated along Broad Creek near its confluence with the Nanticoke River watershed. Its housing stock reflects that history — a mix of older homes in the town's established core and newer construction that has grown up around it. KD Drywall N Paint serves Laurel homeowners and property owners with drywall repair, water damage restoration, and interior painting.
Laurel's older residential neighborhoods contain homes that span multiple generations of construction. Walls in these homes may have plaster, early drywall, or surfaces that have been repaired and painted over many times. We take the time to assess the substrate before starting any repair — using Zinsser Gardz where surfaces are soft or chalky, and FibaFuse tape where seams need reinforcement. The goal is always a repair that holds, not just one that looks good on the day it's done.
We handle a consistent volume of post-trade patching in Laurel — closing holes left by plumbers, electricians, and HVAC contractors after utility work. We also handle water damage repairs from roof leaks and plumbing failures. Every repair is assessed individually: if the drywall is structurally sound and dry, we seal it with Zinsser BIN shellac primer and refinish; if the material has been compromised by moisture, we cut it out and replace it.
We offer free, no-obligation estimates for drywall and painting projects in Laurel and throughout Sussex County.

A few local facts about the community we serve.
The area around Laurel was originally a Nanticoke Indian settlement, established on land known as 'Bachelor's Delight' along Broad Creek. European settlers arrived in the early 18th century, and the town that grew up along the creek eventually took the name Laurel.
Broad Creek, which flows through Laurel, is a tributary of the Nanticoke River — one of the most historically significant waterways on the Delmarva Peninsula. For centuries, the creek served as a transportation route for both the Nanticoke people and later European settlers.
Laurel is located in Broad Creek Hundred, one of the original administrative divisions of Sussex County. Delaware is one of the few states in the country that still uses the 'hundred' as an official geographic subdivision.
